By chance we met at a dance
and got along like old friends.
We fit like interlocked hands,
like tight pants, we were soul twins.
No dispute, never argued,
all that we wanted we had.
With both our minds, and hearts too,
we loved each other like mad.
Then, one night, I betrayed her
and this poisonous mistake
turned me into her jailer
for the choice of love is fake.
So now here we are, both trapped
between the love and the fear,
too scared to lose what we had
and hoping the love’s still here.
But I believe that it is,
for if not my breath’s worthless.
Without her, I don’t exist
for what’s life without purpose?
